Mary Leach-Sumlin
Associate Director + Director of Clare Community
Mary is a lifelong Milwaukee resident having attended and graduated from MPS schools to include a concentration in Chemistry at Milwaukee Trade and Technical High School, now Bradley Tech. Mary worked in various positions in the health insurance industry while earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University.
Mary left her work in corporations in 2007 to pursue a career as a real estate professional for a non-profit housing agency, often serving families with lower incomes. In that position she worked alongside many neighborhood organizations including Amani, Garden Homes, Lindsay Heights and Sherman Park.
In May 2017 Mary joined Franciscan Peacemakers as Associate Director assisting women in pursuit of a life without homelessness, drug and/or alcohol addictions, and prostitution. In her current role Mary has encountered many women, some attempting to change and some who are looking to be treated with respect and be made to feel as their life matters until they are ready and feel able to make changes in their life.
