Outreach and Recovery Assistance Specialist
Cynthia Perkins is originally from a small city in Pennsylvania. After completing her high school studies, she joined the PA Army National Guard where she studied Missile Maintenance. While serving in the National Guard, she met her now former husband. They share three adult children and three grandchildren.
In 2004, Cynthia came to Milwaukee under unfortunate circumstances. During this time, she came to know the Franciscan Peacemakers.
In 2018, Cynthia realized she needed to make a change in her life and joined Clare Community. During her stay, she became a part of the Outreach Team due to her desire to encourage other women that change is possible. Cynthia also earned her Wisconsin Peer Support Specialist Certification and was pivotal to the opening of the Franciscan Peacemakers Hospitality Center.
Cynthia completed the Franciscan Peacemakers' residential program and graduated with an Associates Degree in Human Services from MATC in 2021. While being a welcoming presence in the Hospitality Center and a light for other women in Clare Community, Cynthia earned her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Mount Mary University.
Cynthia continues to serve as Outreach and Recovery Assistance Specialist on the Franciscan Peacemakers Team.
